Did you know CCE offers students an opportunity to register for credit courses without entering a degree plan through Co-Listed Classes? Learn more about co-listing below:

Co-Listed Courses…"What are they?"

Co-listed courses are credit courses.  Corporate and Community Education (CCE) students are allowed the opportunity to participate in a credit course for non-credit.  This collaboration allows non-credit students who would like to enhance theirs skills or learn something new in a particular discipline, the opportunity to register into a credit course without entering into a credit degree plan. 

What student’s are interested in Co-Listed Classes?

1. Degreed students seeking professional development.
2. Life-long learners.
3. Pre-matriculation student (Students seeking college experience) 

Which academic courses are eligible to be Co-Listed?

1. Almost all subject courses are eligible to be co-listed.  Each department chairperson and/or lead instructor is given the right to make the determination and approval to allow students into a co-listed course within their department and/or discipline.
2. Upper level courses can be considered for co-listing on an individual bases.  CCE will seek approval from the department chairperson and/or lead instructor as well.  

Benefits to Students

1. Enrolling as a co-listed student, allows the student to enroll into a credit course to obtain the competencies of the course without entering into a credit degree plan.
2. No THEA requirements.
3. Normally no pre-requisite requirements.
4. Reduced tuition and fees.
5. Increased course offerings available to the student.
6. Upon course completion, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion; only if the student has successfully completed 80% of the course requirements. 

Benefits to the College

1. Increased enrollment from students who would not normally enroll.
2. Increased contact hours.
3. Increased revenue (Tuition/Fees).
4. Reduced the number of killed courses.  Co-listing has supported credit courses from being cancelled because of the CCE students registered into the given course. 

Benefits to Department/Instructor

1. Increased enrollment
2. Co-listed students meet the same course requirements (attendance, exams, participation, etc.) as credit students.
3. Chairs and instructors may determine which courses/section can be co-listed.
4. CCE will market co-listed credit classes accordingly; in particular through the CCE schedule and other marketing materials. 

So, now that you have read all about the amazing benefits of co-listing, search through PAC's online course catalog to find classes that are of interest to you. 

Just enter a search word or phrase under the "courses" search tab (example: music) and all of the related classes will appear with their description. Once you've found a particular class or set of classes, come by the office and we will gladly get you set up!

SER Grant Awarded to CCE

SER Grant Awarded for Office Training.  

The Corporate and Community Education Division’s Office Education, Business and Finance Department was awarded the Request for Proposal (RFP) in partnership with SER Jobs for Progress, Inc. and Workforce Solutions Alamo.   

This RFP pays tuition and fees, enabling individuals receiving unemployment benefits the opportunity to receive training in General Office and Customer Service disciplines. 

This training contract, totaling $165,944, will be ongoing until September 2013 with the option of continuing 4 more years.

Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, the students of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course geared up for their field exercise training at 9 a.m. Course coordinator, Jennifer Nottingham, arranged for several different scenarios to be set-up, requiring the students to use their knowledge gained from the class in a hands-on approach.

Actors and moulage artists were on scene to imitate real-life injuries these students would have to treat daily while working as a certified EMT. From broken arms to burns and blood loss, these students were put to the test on dealing with everyday stresses EMT's face.
